Independent Reading

In this program, students develop fluency and comprehension while reading some of the best books ever written for young readers. Your child will develop the skills and confidence needed to read longer books successfully, and will come away from the program a more enthusiastic and motivated reader.

Parents receive guidance for choosing the best books for their child after the program is over. You'll receive a Reading Development Booklist with great books organized by level of difficulty, and an individualized Book-Level Recommendation to help you select excellent books for your child to read throughout third grade.

Students read five wonderful books over the course of the program,
two of which they keep and read at home.
